Direct
to Garment v. Traditional Screen Printing?
Direct
to garment printing
has only been around for a few years but has gained popularity because
the
equipment is cheaper and it can print smaller quantities.
However the quality of the finished product cannot compare to custom
screen
printing.
Iron on transfers v. Traditional Screen Printing?
Iron on transfers is the process where your artwork is imaged on special paper fed through a digital printer and then heat applied onto the garment. This process has almost been entirely replaced by direct to garment ink jet printers, however this process is still widely used by many on-line printers offering 1 piece minimums. The problems with this process, like direct to garment printing, is that the colors are muted and the image deteriorates after just one or two washings.
We Use Traditional Screen Printing
Traditional screen printing, often referred to as "silk screening" is without question the best method for reproducing images in true-to-life color. Screen printing is also the most cost effective for large quantity print runs. The screen printing inks we use are of the highest quality and the most durable. The print on our garments outlasts the garment itself due to the quality. This cannot be said for many of the other decorating techniques.
Screen printing generates more vibrant colors that last longer. If you want professional and quality t-shirts, sport shirts, sweatshirts, don't settle for anything less than screen printing by AKH Apparel, LLC.
